The heat rippled the asphalt despite the late September’s anticipation of autumn. I let out a whoop whoop as I crossed into Yolo County and relished in the surge of excitement that coursed through my fatigued body. 8 hours in a car with nothing but scratchy FM radio for company, thank god I’m home. I pulled into Michelle’s driveway just as the sun ducked behind the rooftops and was embraced in smiles, giggling, and delight.
It’s been 24 days and 6,892 miles that won’t soon be forgotten. Despite the setbacks we faced and the heartache endured from the realities of loving a person across international borders, our trip from Prince Edward Island to Vancouver Island was a blast. We can’t thank you enough for the sharing in our emotional roller coaster. The encouraging comments were a godsend.
